Sunflower Red Sun produces large 15cm wide flower heads that produce deep shades of maroon. An ideal pick for growing at the back of a border. Can also be cut for displaying in your favourite vase. Sow seeds inside from March to April or outside from May to June.

- Pruning Prune dead or diseased leaves and cut back leggy growth
Start seeds indoors 3 to 4 weeks before last spring frost, often around May. If you prefer, sow seeds directly outside after all danger of frost has passed thinly atop of the soil. When seedlings are 5-7cm tall, thin into individual pots. Replant thinned plants. Protect from Snails and Slugs while young by using copper tape or a fine grit around the base of the plant. Gradually harden them off before planting out once the danger of frost has passed.
