Sunflower Chocolat produces single rows of petals, all in shades of chocolate brown. Reaching heights of 180cm, this tall variety is a perfect fit for growing in the back of the summer flower bed. Their blooms can also be cut, allowing you to display them in a vase of your choosing. Sow seeds inside from March to April or directly outside from May to June.

- Planting Sow seeds thinly atop of the soil
- Soil Type Moist but well-drained soil
- Pruning Prune dead or diseased leaves and cut back leggy growth
Start seeds indoors 3 to 4 weeks before last spring frost, often around May. If you prefer, sow seeds directly outside after all danger of frost has passed thinly atop of the soil. When seedlings are 5-7cm tall, thin into individual pots. Replant thinned plants. Protect from Snails and Slugs while young by using copper tape or a fine grit around the base of the plant. Gradually harden them off before planting out once the danger of frost has passed.
