Magnolia soulangeana Rustica Rubra creates large, deep pink tulip-shaped flowers that open to reveal pale pink hearts from March through to May. Pollinators are attracted to these highly fragrant flowers that make a striking appearance on the bare branches. Shiny, deciduous ovate leaves then develop once the flowers have faded and last through to autumn. This wonderful shrub is compact and will thrive in sunny or partially shaded areas of the garden in acidic-neutral soil.
