Herb Garlic Chinese Chives produces flat gray-ish green leaves and white flowers in summer. They have an intense garlic flavour, perfect for use in the kitchen. A perennial plant for the herb garden or a pot on the windowsill.

- Soil Type Moist but well-drained soil
Sow thinly in seed trays indoors from March for an early start, covering with an inch of fine compost. Keep the soil moist during germination. Can be sown directly into place outside after all danger of frost has passed. When seedlings are about 5cm high, thin to 10-15cm apart. Can be harvested regularly once mature. To get the best flavour and texture, harvest chives before they flower. Their leaves can also be dried for later use.
