Herb Comfrey Symphytum Officinale is a useful plant for your garden as it's widely used for permaculture systems. A herbaceous perennial herb that produces large green leaves and pink nodding bell flowers. Can add nitrogen to soil as well as other important nutrients.

Sow indoors from March to June in a seed bed or in individual pots. Place it somewhere cool or in the fridge for roughly 14-28 days. This helps to activate the seed, improving germination success. Sow the seeds thinly in deep drills 30cm apart, keeping them under glass. Transplant them when they're large enough to handle, spacing them 60cm apart. Water them well and cut the leaves through summer and autumn.
