Dolichos LabLab Hyacinth Bean is a striking climbing plant that produces all stems, each adorned with butterfly-like blooms in shades of light purple and dark pink. These blooms are usually referred to as 'pods', and can grow up to 10cm long. A great choice for drying, and will look perfect in any border display - especially when positioned toward the back.

Can be sown from late spring to early summer, as they're tender plants. Will need warm conditions, preferably 20-25 degrees celcius, to germinate. Keep the seed tray somewhere warm, like a propagator or in a plastic bag to retain heat and moisture. It can take roughly 10-25 days, even in perfect conditions. Harden off gradually before planting outside, after the threat of frost has passed.
