Physalis Alkekengi, also known as the Chinese Lantern, is a hardy perennial plant that produces showy lantern-shaped fruits in bright shades of orange. These fruits can be cut and dried to be used in a bouquet, too.

- Planting Press seeds into soil, do not cover with soil
- Soil Type Moist, well drained soil
Sow indoors or under glass from February to May on the surface of soil that is moist and well-drained. Don't cover the seeds with soil, simply press them into the soil. It will take 3-4 weeks approx for the seeds to germinate. Apply air to seedlings once they've germinated. Transplant when they're large enough to handle. Acclimatise to the outdoors over 1-2 weeks once all threat of frost has passed.
