Our Favourite Plants from Our NEW Autumn Range
Posted by Amber Williams on 24th Aug 2023
Autumn planting season is almost upon us! Thanks to our newest spring range, you’ll be prepped and ready to plant your favourites for the season.
From daffodils to alliums and everything in between, here’s a quick look at what our customers are loving and top picks from our experts for a top spring display.
Bestsellers for Spring
These plants have been loved by you this season! You can shop our full range online, of course, but these spring flowering bulbs are in high demand.
Daffodils & Narcissi
Of course, no spring display would be complete without a few daffodils and narcissi. At J. Parker’s Wholesale, we even sell daffodils in bulk bags – 25kg each. Perfect for growing your favourite spring blooms en masse. Varieties like Narcissus Pseudo Lobularis and Narcissus Thalia have been particularly loved this season.
Tulips
Of course, tulips are another must-have for the spring garden. Varieties like Tulip La Belle Epoque and Tulip Angelique have been flying off our virtual shelves.
Fritillaria
Fritillaria are gorgeous and almost quite exotic in their shape. Our customers absolutely love varieties like Fritillaria meleagris and Fritillaria Persica both are very different in shape and size but equally as impactful.
Camassia
Camassia are members of the asparagus family, which makes them ornamental – perfect for adding needed height and colour to the garden throughout later spring. Customers have been loving a lot of Camassia Leichtlinii Caerulea and Camassia Esculenta Quamash!
Alliums
Now, alliums – where to begin?! If you’re after a structural display, then alliums are the way forward – especially if you’re growing them en-masse in a large garden. Allium Purple Sensation and our Superglobe Mix are hugely popular now, and it’s easy to see why as they are so impressive.
Parker’s Favourites
Picked by our gardening experts for your garden – these plants are must-haves for the season.
Annuals – You can’t ever go wrong with seasonal annuals, especially for easy early to mid-spring colour. For example, pansies and violas will look perfect in a container or hanging basket.
Perennials – Plants like anemones and dicentra (bleeding hearts) are perfect perennials that you can depend on to reappear year after year. They’re great for any container or bedding display.
Bulbs – Of course, this list wouldn’t be complete without a few seasonal bulbs. Plants like daffodils and tulips are an obvious spring choice, but why not accompany them with a couple of compact plants like muscari or crocus?
Shrubs – If you’re after some early spring colour, then these picks are right up your alley. We love Star Jasmine, which is fragrant, as well as spring honeysuckle. Even a Euonymus like Red Cascade is a great option for some spring colour for the garden.
