Hollyhock Chaters Double Mix produces cottage garden plants that will appear in shades of pinks, yellows, oranges, reds, and more. This variety is a biennial, producing flowers in its second year of growth (but will grow foliage in their first year). These seeds are easy to grow, and the plants are effortless to maintain. Sow seeds inside from March to April or directly outside from May to June.

Water Alcea freely during the growing season and deadhead as necessary to help prolong growth. They are suitable for planting in all types of well drained garden soil, and work best once planted in a sunny or lightly shaded location. To plant loose roots, soak them in a bucket of water for 1-3 hours before planting, then dig a hole in the border thats big enough to house the root system. Firm in gently and water well.
