Dahlia Osirium is a bicoloured bloom that adds extreme interest to the summer garden. These wine-red flowers can appear almost purple in the centre, with a bright yellow-green middle. Essential for any summer garden. especially for the back of the border, thanks to its height.

Dahlia tubers can be planted outdoors, 10cm deep in fertile well-drained soil in spring when the frost has disappeared. They prefer to be in a sunny location and spaced at approximately 45cm apart. In areas where there is extreme cold, dig up dahlias and store in potting compost over the winter. Apply a high potash fertiliser every few weeks in the summer to help growth. Dead head when necessary.
